Moscow Ballet’s acclaimed Great Russian Nutcracker at Birmingham’s Alabama Theatre Sun, Nov. 29th-Review-@moscowballet @usfg

Posted by Debra Ann Elliott at 1:19 PM 0 comments
Disclosure: I received two complimentary tickets in exchange for a review from USFamilyGuide. However, all opinions are my own.

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a ballerina, but my dreams faded as I got older. When I got the opportunity to see the Moscow Ballet perform the Great Russian Nutcracker at the legendary Alabama Theatre on Saturday, I was thrilled! However, there were a few disappointments, but not with the performance. Due to the seats my daughter and I were provided, we did not have a great view of the entire performance and missed a lot of spectacular scenes. Also, we were not allowed to take pictures during the performance, which was very disappointing.

My daughter and I dressed in our holiday best as we headed out the go see Moscow Ballet’s acclaimed Great Russian Nutcracker.

As we arrived at the theatre, people were already gathered and packed in like sardines. There was no room to move. We didn't have time to take pictures before the start of the show. Sadly, we also missed the performance of Birmingham Girl's Choir because of seating.

Getting ready for the show to begin.

And the curtain goes up

During the entire performance there were two acts. I have to say my favorite part of the entire ballet was the second act. The little children from the Alabama Dance Academy were so cute and the performances by each of the dancers were absolutely beautiful. It took my breath away.

During the second act there were performances based on six different cultures. My favorite was the Arabian Variation perfomed by Elena Petrichenko and Sergey Chumakov. This dance was mesmerizing and took my breath away. This dance was beautiful.

There is still time to get your tickets for the beautiful Great Russian Nutcracker performed by the Moscow Ballet.

Tickets are On Sale for Moscow Ballet’s acclaimed Great Russian Nutcracker in Most Cities on the 2015 North American Tour!

Make a lifetime of memories this holiday season and take your entire family to see this beautiful story of the Nutcracker performed by the acclaimed Moscow Ballet!
